TBT- Coffeeshop Nurses

I have so many old pictures collecting virtual dust in the lost corners of my computer hard drive. So in an effort to finally do something with them and also coerce myself to start posting regularly, I am going to start sharing some oldies once a week (knock on wood).

Let's begin with this photo (and preferably a glass/bottle of wine and/or coffee) to commemorate my new job. Cheers!

35mm Huntington

From about a month ago at Huntington Gardens. A trip which consisted of me sitting in the middle of the succulent house, crying over my previous roll of film that had spilled out all over the ground in the middle of me changing rolls ( a pathetic sight to see! Some nosey old Asian man kept walking by and staring at me, causing even more internalized self-cursing). But it was a beautiful day filled with foliage of all types.

Pokey cacti, rows and rows of baby succulents, blooming cherry blossoms and camellias, and the best hand picked bouquet a girl can get her hands on.

Little Olivia

I've been dying to take pictures of this little one since before she popped out. My best friend's sister Nicole recently cooked up this beautiful baby in her belly and gave birth on the last day of January. On Tuesday my friend and I took a little day trip to Oceanside so I could finally meet her and snap some shots. Just take a peek at those tiny fingers and toes. This little girl is going to have to beat boys off with a stick someday.

A man and his horses: Papa John

Well, it's happened again. It looks like this thing has turned into a full blown photography blog, which really isn't too bad. I'm hoping I can tell a few interesting stories here and there, but for now I'll tell them through the photos I post.

I flew back from Sacramento on Tuesday and JR's dad asked me if I would go down to the stables and take a few photos of him with his horses. Papa John Kurtz is John Wayne's alter ego. His house is filled wall to wall with southwestern memorabilia, cowboy decor, and horse paraphernalia. He has this magnificent American Indian headdress sitting on a pedestal in the corner. He crafts amazing things with leather and has painted the most beautiful cowboys and countrysides. He is a real meat and potatoes man, and has conquered absolute mountains in life. He graciously lets my whirlwind messes through his house on a weekly basis. He has raised the most talented and loving children in the whole wide world. And he loves his horses.
